The slang that is going on around Owning your Shit is an interesting one.

When you own something, it means not only that it belongs to you, but also that you are responsible for it and cannot (should not) blame anyone else for what this "thing" is or does.

When you own your work, it means that everything around it (the good and the bad alike) depend on you.

When you own your life, it also means that you cannot start looking at others to provide you pull out out or push you forward. I also means that what comes out of it belongs to you.

When you own your issues, it means that the option to sink with them or to untangle them rests on you and your decisions. On your actions (or inactions).

Sometimes we own something together with others. And in this case you are a partner with this other person. But that only means that you as well as the other person or people have the responsibility of pushing forward.

In the end, the owners will decide the faith, not the circumstances.

Circumstances are the road we travel, but the owners decide the path to take along this road.
